What the
event entails

We are living in complicated times, it is not easy to balance our challenging work in first response or helping professions with the needs we see in our private lives and the world around us. The workshop is aimed at professionals working within the field of medicine, Psychiatry, Therapy, Education, Law Enforcement, Social work and the likes. We will be addressing issues of acute stress, crises communication, secondary trauma and compassion fatigue.

This two-day workshop will give an in-depth look at how professionals, including first responders, can manage situations of Suicide and Accidents as well as related professional burnout and PTSD. The training will combine the best practice and contain an evidence base in science, incident experience and lived experience. The topics addressed will be Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention best practice, risk management and the aftermath of working within the field of Suicidality. We will also be taking a close look at trauma resulting from accidents and potential complications.

What is Crisis Intervention
444.png

When critical incidents occur they have the potential to overwhelm our coping mechanisms. An incident can cause many kinds of crisis in the people or the communities it affects. During crisis intervention we structure the response and organise a continuum of care for both the civilians and all first responders involved.
